Itinerary

Day 1 - Arriving and savoring the first-day at the foothills of Kilimanjaro

Welcome to Tanzania! Enjoy the first sight of the African landscape and the vibes of its cities. We will have some rest in our relaxing hotel in Moshi and prepare for our amazing journey. In the afternoon we will meet our guide who will brief us on our upcoming trek and do an equipment check to make sure our mountain gear is complete.

Day 2 - Getting ready for an adventure of a lifetime

After completing all the legal formalities, we will blend in Londorossi National Park, driving through varied farmlands with open views over the plains enjoying the amazing African landscapes. We will reach the Lemoshp trailhead and have a delicious lunch before starting our walk. Easy and beautiful day to get used to the splendid paths and lush forests of Tanzania.

Day 3 - Acclimatization, vibrant dessert landscapes, and overnight camp at Shira One campsite

Explore the natural wonders and the beautiful feeling of starting this astonishing experience! We will start our acclimatization trek by walking across a beautiful valley outside Shira Caldera Rim and gaining over 650 meters in altitude level. A high-altitude desert, Shira is one of the three peaks which erupted in the Kilimanjaro ecosystem. We will stop here and build our overnight camp at 3500 meters elevation at the Shira One Campsite.

Day 4 - Spectacular mountain views & trekking to Shira Two Camp (elevation 3500 m to 3800 m)

Our steps will take us East across Shira Plateau continuing with our acclimatization process. We will reach Cathedral Peak located at 3850 meters above sea level and there we will find an amazing view of Mountain Meru and Kibo Peak. Breathe, connect with the magical forces of the mountains, and let your spirit fly. And, of course, take some photos! We will continue our trek to Shira Two Camp where we will spend our night over the African sky.

Day 5 - Shira Two Campsite: the longest day of acclimatization & trek up to 4600 meters

After an early breakfast get ready for the longest acclimatization day. We will head east to the junction leading to Lava Tower Rock situated at 4600 meters for acclimatization. Afterward, we will descend down to Barranco campsite for a peaceful dinner and for our well-deserved sleep.

Day 6 - Peaceful trek day on our way up to the rooftop of Africa

Today is one of the shortest days of trekking. After breakfast, we will start climbing the Barranco wall and reach 4200 meters for acclimatization. Step by step we will continue crossing ridges and valleys to Karanga campsite for a hot and delicious lunch and a moment to rest. Get ready for the second round of acclimatization because we will be trekking up the scree slopes towards the Southern ice field. That’s it for today! Going back to the camp for dinner and for a restful sleep.

Day 7 - Alpine desert and the day before conquering the great Kilimanjaro (Karanga campsite to Barafu campsite)

Today’s trek up to the Barafu ridge campsite is a little bit difficult because of the high altitude. With all the positive energy we have, we will walk slowly and calmly in order to avoid fatigue. Crossing the alpine desert will be a mind-blowing experience because we will face the force of untamed nature: strong, cold winds blowing from Kibo peak and its almighty glaciers. At the end of the day, we will have an early dinner and rest until midnight when we will commence our push for the summit.

Day 8 - Summit day & enjoying one of the most amazing experiences of your life

After a quick breakfast, we will set our day goal: to climb before dawn so that we can reach Uhuru Peak shortly before or after sunrise. Hiking through desert and ice will help you find that inner strength and happiness that you achieve something amazing in this journey. Conquering Kilimanjaro and its highest peak - Uhuru Peak - will need some beautiful pictures for a lifetime. After that, we will start our descend back to the Barafu Huts campsite to enjoy the most delicious lunch ever! Quick rest and going further with the descent to Mweka Huts campsite where we will spend our night blissfully happy because of our wonderful success.

Day 9 - Last day on the mountain & returning to the hotel

We will start our descend down to Mweka park gate right after breakfast walking across Montane forest. Keeping all the amazing landscapes, the energy of the mountain, and the powerful view of the world right on the top of Kilimanjaro in our hearts, we will go back to our hotel by car congratulating ourselves for this amazing and unforgettable adventure that we had the courage to sign up for.

Day 10 - Let the Safari adventure begin!

After a good night’s rest and lots of delicious food, we will depart from our lodge in Moshi/Arusha and proceed to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is known for its vast herds of elephants - over 2,500 elephants - and we will enjoy all these amazing views during lunch. At the end of the day, we will arrive at Mto wa Mbu near Lake Manyara/Karatu for a blissful dinner and sleep.

Day 11 - The Great Migration and natural beauty of Africa

Blending in with the natural landscape of Africa, we will depart from our lodge for a spectacular day in Great Serengeti National Park. The word “Serengeti” means “endless plains”, which is exactly what we will encounter: a rich ecosystem, one of the oldest on Earth, filled with a lush collection of wildlife. The Great Migration is one spectacular show which is wonderful to see at least once in your life - vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle, along with groups of elephants, giraffe, and buffalo are traveling to the green pastures of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Meanwhile, all the carnivores - lions, leopards, cheetah, hyenas, and jackals prey in order to survive.

Yes, we will witness all these mesmerizing scenes with open hearts, we will sink at the moment and enjoy the show so perfectly played by its majesty, Mother Nature. Late evening we will find our way to our tented lodging for dinner and well-deserved sleep.

Day 12 - Following the first footprints of mankind - Oldupai George

After a good night’s sleep, delicious breakfast, and lots of energy,  we will start our day with a short drive to the central part of Serengeti. Spending all day there, we will get to enjoy a picnic lunch in Ngorongoro via Oldupai George.

The Oldupai George region provides one of the most touching and undoubtedly powerful signs of the earliest mankind discovered, the first footprints preserved in a volcanic rock for 3,600,000 years old. After visiting this extraordinary tourist attraction we will drive back to our lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13 - Ngorongoro Crater and the beautiful sun of Africa

Today is the day when we will visit the largest untouched volcanic crater in the world: the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. It is measuring more than 2,000 feet deep and 12 miles in diameter and it represents the largest concentration of wildlife in Africa. After a delicious lunch under the sun, we will ascent the Crater climbing up to the rim.

At the end of this, we will say goodbye to the natural beauty of Africa with gratefulness for all that we have experienced. We will start our long drive back to Moshi/to the hotel.

Day 14 - Fly your wings to the exotic shores of Zanzibar

The African adventure continues with the breathtaking Zanzibar. An exotic destination - both for the peace of mind and for the tranquility of soul - you will have the chance to relax on the shores of the Indian Ocean after an amazing adventure on top of Kilimanjaro and Safari.

Day 15 - 18/21 - Explore Zanzibar and connect with the beauty of nature within you

There are plenty of things you can do on Zanzibar Island:

  • Snorkeling - Discover the astonishing reefs with colorful marine life nearby Pemba Island
  • Diving - Choose between Pemba Island or Mafia Island and start your amazing diving trip during which you can see the mighty whale sharks.
  • Jozani Forest Tour - Zanzibar’s only national park where you can find the endangered red colobus monkeys and many more treehoppers such as bush babies.
  • Spice Tour - Zanzibar is known as the spice island. Discover the trees and the herbs that are creating the spectacular landscape of the area.

  • … or just relax, breathe, sleep, repeat. Zanzibar is the perfect place for it!
