Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Kathmandu

In accordance with your flight schedule, we will be at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu to extend a warm welcome to you in our beautiful country for the beautiful trip. After exchanging warm welcome greetings at the arrival section, we will lead you to our vehicle to transfer you to our trip hotel. It’s a day at complete leisure on your own to relax the jetlag. But we definitely help you with the information to go around in case you’d like to do so.

Day 2 - Hinduism and Buddhism Excursion around Kathmandu Valley

We spend a full day in Kathmandu today which will be a necessary acclimatization day as well. Early in the morning after breakfast, we will meet for a trip briefing where we will talk about this amazing trip in detail and answer your questions if you have any. After the brief meeting is over, we are taking you for an amazing cultural sightseeing tour of heritage sites in Kathmandu valley.

The sites we take you for the sightseeing today include Swoyambhunath - the oldest monument in Kathmandu valley, Kathmandu Durbar Square – to see the temple of Living Goddess and other medieval architectural wonders, Pashupatinath – to immerse into Hindu death rites on the bank of a holy river, and Boudhanath – a massive Buddhist shrine considered as the biggest in the world.

Day 3 - Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

We will leave Kathmandu today on an overland journey to Syabrubesi in the morning. The highway runs winding past several rural towns and heads towards Trishuli Bazar. After a break in Trishuli bazaar, our road trip heads towards Syabrubesi, the destination for today.

The road trip today brings us an insight into the rural lifestyle in Nepal. The drive along the beautiful Trishuli River gives an idea of the richness of Nepal in natural resources. Fertile farmland on the river plateau, terraced fields, and roadside towns are apt examples to give some glimpses of Nepalese countryside life.

Day 4 - Trek Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel

After having breakfast, we will be checking and questioning our clients if they have any problems with their physical state. After finishing up with our packing and stuff, we will set off on an exciting trekking journey today from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel. We cover the elevation of about 1,000 meters on the very first day of our trek in the Langtang region.

The walk introduces us to the mountain cultures of the region and the amazing views and landscapes that heighten our excitement about the following trekking days. Although the name, of our destination today, sounds like the name of a hotel, it’s the name of an overnight place on the Langtang Valley trekking route. Lama Hotel serves as an ideal location to spend overnight after a full day of trekking journey on the mountain trail.

Day 5 - Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Valley

We will gain another significant elevation level today when we trek to Langtang valley today. Before the devastating earthquake in 2015, trekkers used to stay in the Langtang village itself. But as the village was swept away in a landslide during the earthquake, the settlement has been shifted to a new and safe place.

The walk will bring lots of cultural and spiritual experiences in addition to the natural marvels. Buddhist prayer flags, Mani walls, and chhortens along the trail significantly signal the dominance of Buddhist culture in the region. It’s a beautiful day full of fascinating encounters along the trail.

Day 6 - Trek from Langtang Valley to Kyangjing Gompa

The trek on this day will take us further higher up to Kaynjing Gompa. The beautiful day trek reveals some nonpareil sights to us along the trail. The influence of Buddhism and ethnic culture clearly sets the region apart from the lower region that we traveled through. When we reach Kyanjing Gompa for our overnight stay, we can explore an ancient and beautiful Buddhist monastery, the Kyanjing Gompa. The monastery is one of the most important spiritual sites in the Langtang region.

Day 7 - Kyangjing Gompa

We will spend one more day in Kyangjing for acclimatisation.

Day 8 - Trek from Kyanjing Gompa to Lama Hotel via Kyangjing Ri

We will set off on an early morning hike to Kyanjing RI at the elevation of 4,350 meters above sea level. This elevation will put us at the highest altitude of our trek. Kyanjing RI offers a spectacular sight of the panoramic Langtang range. We enjoy the breathtaking view of mountain peaks and beautiful sunrise and hike down back towards Lama Hotel. It’s a long day walk today adding the early morning Kyanjing RI hike to the walk to Lama Hotel.

Day 9 - Trek from Lama hotel to Syabrubesi

It’s the last day of the trekking portion of this trip. We will trek back down to Syabrubesi today to end the trek. As we will walk back down on the same trail that we took on the way up, we will see the wonders of the place from a different angle and perspective and also will have a chance to get closer to the cultural riches of the place. Once we are in Syabrubesi, we will have time to explore this beautiful, small town for the rest of the day as we are staying there overnight.

Day 10 - Drive from Syabruesi to Chitwan National Park

After divine trekking in the peaceful and serene environment of Langtang, it's now time to explore the wildlife of Chitwan. Waking up early we will have breakfast and have one last glace of the Langtang. A seven-hour drive from Syabrubesi will take us to the dense forest of Chitwan for some adventure.

Chitwan National Park which is extended in an area of 932 sq. km is the first national park in Nepal. Located in the subtropical inner Terai lowland this place is the home to more than 700 species of wildlife and a not yet fully surveyed number of butterfly, moth, and insect species. Apart from King Cobra and Rock python, 17 other species of snakes, starred tortoise, and monitor lizards occur. The Narayani-Rapti river system, their small tributaries, and myriads of oxbow lakes is a habitat for 113 recorded species of fish and mugger crocodiles.

Once we arrive at the hotel in Chitwan, we will check-in in the hotel and get refreshed. In the evening we will meet to discuss the schedule for tomorrow. After that, you can go around the city on your own to explore more of this beautiful city.

Day 11 - Jungle Safari Activities in Chitwan National Park

We spend a full day here at Chitwan exploring the wildlife. Our exploration of the day brings us possible encounters with one-horned rhinoceros, deer, crocodiles, wild boar, Bengal tiger, monkeys, and several species of birds. The day is going to be full of wildlife adventures inside the forest there. We also go for a wonderful cultural show of the ethnic Tharu people in the evening if we haven’t done it the previous night.

Day 12 - Drive back to Kathmandu

After breakfast, we will drive you back to Kathmandu, for last night in the capital of Nepal.

Day 13 - Fly back home

On the last day of this trip, we drive you to the airport as per your flight schedule back to home or onward destination. If you have extra time, then BODHI Retreats can probably arrange for you another program. We hope that you enjoyed this adventurous trip to Nepal and hope to see you again for another adventure soon.
