This journey was created for those who feel alive in movement, who are drawn to mountain air, long days outdoors, panoramic trails and places that leave a strong visual memory long after the trip is over. Over the course of these days, we will explore some of the most iconic areas of the Dolomites, walking through dramatic alpine scenery, reaching high-altitude viewpoints, crossing paths lined with rugged rock formations, turquoise lakes and wide open ridgelines. Some days will feel light and expansive, others a little more intense, with just enough challenge to make the experience deeply rewarding. This is a journey shaped around rhythm, beauty and strong landscapes. A trip designed for explorers who appreciate both the energy of the trail and the pleasure of returning in the evening to comfort, good food and the atmosphere of the Italian mountains.
WHY THIS JOURNEY WITH BODHI
At BODHI, we create journeys that are carefully built, visually memorable and deeply enjoyable to experience as part of a small group.
For the Dolomites, our focus is on choosing the routes that offer the strongest overall experience: landscapes with impact, days with a good natural rhythm, a level of challenge that feels energising, and a structure that allows the trip to flow well from beginning to end.
The group remains small, which allows for a more personal atmosphere, better pacing and a smoother experience throughout the journey. The itinerary is thoughtfully designed to combine some of the most iconic highlights of the region with the kind of balance that makes a trip feel complete rather than rushed.
Our experience in leading groups around the world has taught us that what people remember most is rarely one single viewpoint or one single trail. What stays with them is the feeling of the journey as a whole: the places, the atmosphere, the quality of the route, the people around them and the way everything comes together naturally.
That is the intention behind this experience in the Dolomites.
Your journey begins with a morning flight from Bucharest to northern Italy, with arrival depending on availability into Venice (Marco Polo), Treviso or Bergamo.
From the airport, we continue by private transfer or rental cars towards the Dolomites, gradually leaving behind the lowlands and entering one of the most distinctive mountain landscapes in Europe. The drive itself becomes part of the experience, with the scenery shifting from open plains to alpine valleys and, eventually, to the first dramatic outlines of the Dolomite peaks. We arrive in the Cadore region, where we will be based for the duration of the trip, and check in at our four-star hotel, TH Cadore Hotel Antelao. Set in a quiet mountain setting, the hotel offers a comfortable and well positioned base for exploring the surrounding areas.
After some time to settle in, the afternoon remains intentionally light. Depending on arrival time and energy levels, we may take a short walk in the nearby area, visit a lake, or head to a scenic viewpoint for a first introduction to the landscape.
This first day is designed to allow a smooth transition into the rhythm of the mountains — enough to feel where you are, without rushing into the experience
Today we head into one of the most iconic landscapes in the Dolomites. Starting from the area of Rifugio Auronzo, we begin our first full day in the mountains with the classic route around Tre Cime di Lavaredo, a trail that offers some of the most recognisable alpine scenery in Italy. The path unfolds beneath the famous limestone peaks, crossing high- altitude terrain, open views and mountain sections that make this part of the Dolomites so distinctive.
The route is accessible for most active travellers, with a steady rhythm and enough elevation to make the day feel rewarding without becoming overly demanding. Throughout the walk, the landscape changes constantly, from wide panoramic sections to closer views of the rock walls and surrounding ridgelines.
Depending on weather conditions, timing and the energy of the group, we will also continue towards the Cadini di Misurina viewpoint, a shorter extension that leads to one of the most striking perspectives in the region. With its dramatic rock formations and deep alpine backdrop, this is one of those places that gives the Dolomites their unmistakable character.
This day is designed as a strong introduction to the journey: visually impressive, well balanced, and memorable from the very beginning.
Technical details
Route: Passo Tre Croci – Lago di Sorapis – return
Distance: approx. 12–13 km round trip
Duration: approx. 4–5 hours, depending on the rhythm of the group
Difficulty: medium, with a few more exposed and technical sections along the way
Today we head towards Passo Tre Croci for one of the most beautiful and most recognisable hikes in the Dolomites: the trail to Lago di Sorapis. The route begins at altitude and gradually leads us into a landscape that feels increasingly remote and dramatic. Forest sections open into rocky traverses, mountain walls rise sharply above the path, and the scenery becomes more striking with every step. This is a day that brings a little more intensity, not through altitude alone, but through the character of the terrain and the feeling of moving deeper into the mountains.
The trail to Sorapis is one of the classics of the Cortina area for good reason. It combines strong alpine scenery with a route that feels varied from beginning to end, and rewards the effort with one of the most distinctive lakes in the region. Set beneath steep limestone peaks, Lago di Sorapis is known for its extraordinary turquoise colour, a natural effect created by the mineral-rich glacial sediment carried into the water.
Some sections of the trail are narrower and more exposed, with short protected passages equipped with cables, which adds a slightly more adventurous character to the day while remaining accessible for active travellers who are comfortable walking in the mountains. This gives the hike exactly the kind of progression we want at this point in the journey: more dramatic, a little more physical, and deeply rewarding once we reach the lake.
Once at the lake, we will have time to pause, take in the landscape and enjoy one of the most memorable natural settings in the Dolomites before returning along the same route. With its colour, scale and setting, Sorapis is one of those places that fully justifies its reputation.

After two full mountain days, today unfolds at a different pace.
The morning is left intentionally slow, with time to rest, enjoy the comfort of the hotel and ease into the day without hurry. For those who wish, the wellness area offers a welcome pause between hiking days — a chance to recover, reset and enjoy a quieter side of the experience.
Later in the day, we shift from alpine trails to local flavours. Depending on availability at the time of travel, we will include either a cheese-making experience or a curated food experience inspired by the culinary traditions of the Dolomites. This part of the day brings a different kind of connection to the region: through taste, atmosphere and the slower pleasure of sitting down to enjoy what this mountain area is also known for beyond its landscapes. Cortina officially offers cooking classes and food experiences centred on local cuisine, which makes this a natural extension of the journey.
Towards the end of the afternoon, we drive to Passo Giau, one of the most scenic mountain passes in the area, where the wide-open views make it an ideal place to end the day. As the light begins to soften, the peaks gradually take on the warm tones that make the Dolomites so distinctive at sunset. It is a simple and beautiful closing to the day, with space to take in the landscape, the silence and the scale of the mountains from a different perspective.
This day is designed as a change of rhythm within the journey: less about distance, more about atmosphere, recovery and the pleasure of experiencing the Dolomites in a broader way
Today we return to the mountains for one of the most characteristic hikes in the Cortina area. We head towards Cinque Torri, where striking limestone towers rise above open alpine slopes and panoramic trails, creating one of the most recognisable landscapes in the Dolomites. The route unfolds at altitude through a scenic network of paths and mountain huts, including Rifugio Cinque Torri and Rifugio Scoiattoli, with wide views over the surrounding peaks and the possibility to extend into the broader Passo Giau area, depending on the final route chosen on the ground.
What makes this day especially enjoyable is its balance. After the stronger effort of Sorapis and the slower rhythm of the previous day, Cinque Torri brings us back into the mountains with a hike that feels visually rich, varied and very satisfying, without becoming overly demanding. Along the way, the area also reveals traces of its wartime history, with open-air remains from the First World War adding another layer to this remarkable landscape.
For those who would like to add a slightly more adventurous element to the day, a short and accessible via ferrata can be arranged in this area, accompanied by certified mountain guides.

Our final day in the mountains takes us higher, into the Sella Massif, for one of them most rewarding and accessible summit experiences in the Dolomites.
We begin the day with a lift that takes us quickly into high alpine terrain, allowing us to start the hike already surrounded by vast mountain views. From here, the route continues along a wide ridge and rocky paths towards Piz Boè, one of the most accessible peaks above 3,000 meters in the region.
The ascent is steady and engaging, with sections that feel more rugged underfoot, adding a sense of progression without becoming overly technical. As we move higher, the landscape opens in all directions, revealing the scale and structure of the Dolomites from a completely different perspective.
Reaching the summit brings a natural pause. At this altitude, the views stretch far across the surrounding peaks and valleys, offering a clear sense of where we are and how much ground we have covered over the past days.
This final hike is not about distance alone, but about perspective — a way to close the journey with a strong, elevated experience that brings everything together.

After days spent among high passes, alpine trails and some of the most striking landscapes in the Italian mountains, our journey comes to an end.
Depending on the final flight schedule, the morning allows time for breakfast, check-out and one last look at the peaks before we begin the drive back towards the airport. The return takes us out of the Dolomites and back through northern Italy, carrying with us the rhythm of the past days, the scenery, and the strong visual memory of this remarkable region.
Arrival will be into Venice (Marco Polo), Treviso or Bergamo, depending on the selected flight option, followed by the return flight to Bucharest.
This final day marks the close of a journey shaped by movement, mountain landscapes and the distinct atmosphere of the Dolomites — a part of Italy that stays with you long after the trip is over.
